Bow to Stern Author: Matt Howerton
Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I have a ’99 Skeeter 185 ZX. The gelcoat is not perfect on my boat, but it looks pretty good for a 1999. However, I had yet to find something that would continually protect it. Waxes do a decent job, but after wiping the boat down, you tend to get a haze and the overall protection doesn’t hold up. Rather, I decided to wash my boat and treat it with FSR to remove any tannic water stains. Then, I treated the gelcoat with Bow to Stern. I teated every surface including hull cap and bottom to the recommended three coats, along with my depth finder screens, motor cowling and windshields. I am writing this review six months later and I am still the point where all I have to do is wipe the boat down when I pull it off the water and I’m ready to go. The salt deposits that get on everything in Louisiana are easily removed with a sponge or damp cloth. The most impressive thing were the seats. I store my boat outside unfortunately and thus moisture gets trapped under the cover during the warm days. Mildew typically forms on the seats and we all know what it takes to get rid of it. Bow to Stern has an anti-microbial that helps protect against the formation of mildew and once you clean the seat, protecting it with Bow to Stern will make the seat surface look fantastic and protect for the future!
