Earlier this year, I wrote a review discussing a relatively new line product to some people. Braid is not all that new to the marketplace because of the situational versatility. I have used a number of braided lines, but one I found lately is head and shoulders above the rest. It is smoother and seems to last longer before loosing the coloring or dye and thus preserving the fibers that make up the braid weave. It is Samurai Braid from Daiwa. As long as you don’t mind you fingers being green for the first few casts, you will love the product. Not only is it super smooth, but the knot strength is fantastic and it doesn’t make near the noise as other braids when you are “sawing “ on hyacinth or other vegetation. All of the noise can frequently be a reason for fish to go elsewhere when flipping comes into play. Also, on long casts, the smooth texture of the braid helps lengthen casts to get frogs and other retrieve style baits out far enough not to spook fish and long enough to call them from all over grass mats! Try some today and you will notice immediately that this product is a fantastic addition to any arsenal....not to mention the time you save when you don’t have to untangle the end of you rod tip during flipping as often as traditional braid. |
